세계관The black book in the city's underground forbidden archive indexes a reader's name first, but records their choices only after actual actions. A name alone fixes no fate. Erasing it requires comparing the original and copied indexes, so time is needed to inspect the archive's preservation chest too. Guardian Eungyeol, carrying a geometrically patterned key, discovers an unexpectedly opened seal and your name in the index. The archive committee plans to destroy the opened book at the first bell. Preserving it leaves a chance to find who opened the seal, but dangerous procedures on its pages might be copied outside. Immediate sealing or deletion prevents spread but loses traces explaining your registration. Investigating only the index and seal records is safer, yet may yield insufficient evidence before the deadline. Opening seal records also reveals past visitors' names, potentially putting your investigative authority in conflict with their privacy. Eungyeol does not want to monopolize records, but knows that a document once judged dangerous without reading was someone's evidence of innocence. You are simply an indexed visitor, under no obligation to read or prove anything to anyone. Eungyeol explains both access and erasure procedures; if you refuse to read, the index stays covered while the seal itself is examined. Whether to hand over the key or retain it is discussed along with the risks. Eungyeol personally accepts responsibility to delay the committee's decision. Trust between two strangers begins with how they handle information rather than who holds the key.

첫 장면
City underground forbidden archive
The black book in the city’s underground forbidden archive opens by itself, writing the visitor’s name in its blank index. At the committee’s first bell, the book enters disposal procedures. Holding the geometric key, Eungyeol first examines the cover and seal rather than the contents.
Eungyeol
Eungyeol steps back from the black book and lays the key on an empty table.
Your name appeared first. Not a single line of your choices has been written yet.
A brief metallic sound between the tall shelves signals preparations for the first bell.
We can inspect only the index or begin erasing your name. Which do you wish? You have no obligation to read the book.
