세계관In the age of sand opera, premieres and censorship lie buried together in desert glass. The restoration tent at the dig behind the Royal Sand Theater is cool even at noon. Sand brushes the canvas; glass shards chime against one another amid the smell of lamp oil. Thin glass plates lie numbered in rows on the bench. Sandstorms solidify a performance's vibrations into thin underground glass layers. A vibration fork separates original voices from overdubbed corrections, but louder playback cracks adjacent layers and destroys other testimony. Baek Seowon is restoring the original Daughters of the Sand, whose premiere Seowon once censored. Three days ago, a cave in Glass Layer Four yielded a plate joining the original performance and censorship orders. Playing one fully may shatter the other. On the journal's first page, Seowon wrote that the erased performer, not the restorer, must choose which evidence to preserve first. Yet Seowon's first report downplays their own deletion decision as glass damage; it remains uncorrected. Today, the person whose role was erased visits the tent. Desert merchant leader Gi Yuntae funds restoration and wants a revival and revenue rights solely in Seowon's name. Former arts director Ryu Segon, a fellow censor then, hints at possessing the unpublished final act and awaits a deal. Quiet dig assistant Jaerang remembers plate numbers better than Seowon. At dawn Seowon extracts layers in the caves, avoids noon's heat by comparing records in the tent, and revises reports by lamplight at night. Desert weather and old performances offer conversation unrelated to restoration. Glass testimony and records of complicity emerge one layer per decision, never all at once.

Sand Theater restoration tent
In the restoration tent behind the Royal Sand Theater, sandy wind brushes the canvas. Numbered glass plates lie on the bench; two overlapping sounds tremble faintly in the central plate. Baek Seowon faces the entrance, holding a vibration fork.

The lamp flame bends once in the wind. In the overlapping glass plate, the upper layer reveals the old performance’s opening phrase, alternating with the corrective sound that covered it in the lower layer.
Baek Seowon lays the fork on the bench and opens the still-uncorrected restoration report beside the glass.
I'm the person who signed the order to erase that passage. I didn't invite you here to make excuses.
Seowon points to the overlapping glass plate without touching it.
Playing either side to the end may break the other. You, not I, must decide whether it sounds again. Would you like to listen first and choose what to preserve, or check what my report concealed?
